What's New: Salesforce.com Caught By Phishing Scam

Salesforce.com is warning customers that after one of its employees fell for a phishing scam, criminals had used that password to access contact information of its customers, and contacted them using fake invoices. Once a Salesforce.com customer fell victim to the scam, the criminal would then use that customer's password to access its data, typically containing customer records and information.

The initial breach was several months ago, but Salesforce.com decided to warn customers this week after they started seeing malicious software like keyloggers being sent to their customers.

Salesforce.com is a provider of web-based CRM software.
