What's New: Office 2007 SP2 To Add Speed, And PDF/ODF Support

Microsoft plans to release service pack 2 for Office 2007 this spring. Unlike SP1 which mostly fixed bugs, SP2 will add new features, including:

  • Native support for Adobe's PDF file format and OpenOffice's ODF document format
  • Faster performance and "a more reliable" calendar in Outlook
  • Improved charting in Excel
  • Uninstallation tool for Office 2007 service packs

Previously support for PDF was provided via a downloadable add-in.
