What's New: Microsoft Ending Windows Server Support

Microsoft says it will stop issuing new security updates for Windows 2000 Server in July 2010, the same time it shifts Windows Server 2003 to a more limited support status. On that date, Microsoft's life cycle for Windows 2000 Server ends, with users limited to online self-help support such as their knowledge base. Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2 enter the Extended life cycle phase, meaning Microsoft will continue to issue security fixes only, and issue no further feature modifications. It will also cease providing free support for those products.
