What's New: $50 Windows 7 Upgrade - Two Weeks Only

From June 26 through July 11 only, Microsoft will allow consumers to pre-order Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional (the upgrade to Windows Vista Business) for as little as $50. The pre-orders can be placed at participating retailers or Microsoft's online store.

Keep in mind however that one cannot upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7; the upgrades only work for Windows Vista.

Microsoft also announced pricing for Windows 7 Home Premium will drop slightly to $119.99 for the upgrade version and $199.99 for the full version, a decrease of 8 to 17% over Windows Vista.
