What's New: Exchange 12 to Include Unified Messaging

Microsoft today will release the first beta version of Exchange 12 to select testers. The next version of Exchange will include unified messaging, allowing users to access voice mails and faxes through Exchange. An automated attendant will allow users to call in to access messages and calendars remotely, and send e-mail or text message replies. Previously these features were available only through third-party add-ons.

Exchange 12 is expected in the first half of 2007. As reported earlier, it will only be available in a 64-bit version at its release.
