What's New: AMD Eclipses Intel

AMD in September captured a 52 percent share of the U.S. retail PC market, topping Intel for the first time. Market research firm Current Analysis shows Intel claimed only 46 percent. ITS has long felt AMD's Athlon 64 and X2 single- and dual-core 64-bit processors provides a better cost/benefit ratio over Intel's current designs.
