What's New: AMD Sues Rival Intel

AMD filed suit against Intel, alleging Intel coerced 38 companies on five continents to sell only Intel processors or to limit competitor's market share. AMD claims Intel paid subsidies and demanded contracts that limit several PC manufacturers to using Intel products.

In March the Fair Trade Commission of Japan found Intel had violated that country's monopoly laws. AMD's complaint in the US draws heavily from that finding. Also, the European Commission has said it is also investigating Intel's business practices on that continent.
