What's New: Sprint Mobile Broadband Gets Faster

Sprint has upgraded its high-speed wireless data network in the Chicago market and several other areas to provide faster upload and download speeds. The newly renamed Sprint Mobile Broadband Network, based on cellular EV-DO technology, will provide upload speeds of 350-500Kbps. Sprint's standard EV-DO service supports upload speeds of 50-70Kbps. Likewise download speeds will increase to 600Kbps-1.4Mbps, up from 400-700Kbps. Similar to other carriers, Sprint broadband service can be set up on a laptop using a cellular "modem," and is usable anywhere there is a Sprint cell signal.
