What's New: Microsoft Fixes 26 Bugs In October's Update

Microsoft's monthly "patch Tuesday" release fixes 26 security issues in Windows, Office, and other programs.

Microsoft regularly releases updates via Microsoft Update on the second Tuesday of every month. Updates can be checked manually, or via the Automatic Updates feature in Windows. ITS recommends clients not install the patches automatically, but instead pick the Notify me but don't automatically download or install them option. Automatic Updates can be enabled in the System icon in the Windows control panel.
