What's New: Dell Recalls 4 Million Laptop Batteries

Dell has recalled 4.1 million laptop batteries due to a risk of fire. The laptops were sold between April, 2004 and July 18, 2006. Dell's statement says that "under rare conditions, it is possible for these batteries to overheat, which could cause a risk of fire." They have identified six cases of this happening since December, 2005, and believe it to be caused by a manufacturing defect.

If you have a Dell laptop please check Dell's web site to see if it is part of this recall.
