The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said today that Sony is recalling 73,000 Vaio TZ series laptops due to an overheating and burn hazard. A problem with wiring near the computer's hinge may cause a short-circuit and overheat in certain circumstances, possibly burning the user. Sony says that only some VGN-TZ100, VGN-TZ200, VGN-TZ300, and VGN-TZ2000 laptop models are subject to the recall, and to contact Sony to verify whether a specific laptop is affected.
