This week Microsoft released version 9 of their ubiquitous web browser. IE9 promises faster browsing and significantly faster JavaScript, which is used for common web applications like e-mail. We would, however, recommend holding off on critical PCs, since in the past some applications that depend on Internet Explorer DLL files develop problems after upgrades. Also as we noted previously, IE9 requires Windows 7 Service Pack 1, which was just released, and we recommend more testing before deploying that as well.
