Microsoft pulled Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Vista Service Pack 1 from its Windows Update sites after discovering a problem with its Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) software. Testing discovered a problem where, if either update was installed, RMS data could be corrupted. Microsoft so far has said the conflict only affects this software, and plans to re-release the service packs to Windows Update once they can prevent PCs with RMS from installing them.
