Samsung will ship a 64GB solid state disk (SSD) drive they claim is two to five times faster than conventional hard drives. The new flash-memory drive supports reading at 100MBps and writing at 80MBps, or 60% faster than most other SSD drives. Samsung plans to target laptops (for power and weight savings, with zero noise) as well as high-speed enterprise storage applications.
