Microsoft will provide free technical support for users who experience problems installing Windows Vista Service Pack 1, which was released via Windows Update last week, or compatibility issues with the service pack. A Microsoft representative posted a link to the Vista SP1 support page which has options for e-mail, chat, or phone support.

Normally Microsoft does not provide free technical support for versions of Windows that come preinstalled on a new PC, instead referring users to the PC manufacturer.
