Apple will license Microsoft's ActiveSync for an upcoming release of iPhone software, expected in June. With this update, iPhone will fully support Microsoft Exchange, including secure communications, synchronization of calendars and contacts, and will also support ActiveSync's "remote wipe" feature that will erase data if a phone is lost or stolen. Apple plans to make this a free update for existing iPhone users.
