Security experts noticed this week that certain malware web sites had arranged for ads on Google's AdWords service, to trick users into clicking on the ads and downloading spyware. The sites used fraudulent ads for legitimate sites, and when users clicked on the ad their browser would download the spyware program and then be redirected to the legitimate web site, making the download difficult to detect. Example search phrases used include "Better Business Bureau" and "auto show." The trojan software would then monitor for users to log in to about 100 bank web sites and capture keystrokes such as login information.

Google of course has pulled the fake ads.
