How does the software work?
A backup agent program is installed on the PC to handle data backups and restores.
How is the encryption key set up?
You choose an encryption key or phrase that is stored on your PC and used to encrypt your data before it is uploaded. You can also set up a password to limit access to your backup account, separate from the encryption key.
How long are files retained by your service?
The ten most recent versions of each file are retained for 90 days. Files you delete are retained for 90 days. Files deselected from the list of files to back up are retained for seven days.
How long do backups take?
Backups happen in the background, while you are connected to the Internet. The first backup may take a while, but you can interrupt it at any time. Subsequently, only the changes to a file are backed up, so large files are not constantly re-uploaded, and backups can happen in a few minutes. You can schedule backups to happen at any time of day or night, and can back up as often as you wish.
What are the backup agent software requirements?
The software supports Windows 95B, 98, Me, NT SP4, 2000, or XP.
How are software updates distributed?
All accounts automatically update the backup software once it has been thoroughly tested, and released.
