Compare Our MPS to the Competition

Managed Server MPS is a managed hosting platform. While you have root level access, from the start an MPS has the latest security patches installed for all critical software such as the operating system and Apache web server. User-installed software such as PHP and MySQL is not automatically upgraded since there is a small chance that may impact your web site. Instead, as new versions are released, users can upgrade using a simple vinstall command.

By contrast, a dedicated server is typically unmanaged, meaning you would be responsible for all software maintenance and patching.
Backups All servers have RAID and are backed up daily to disk. Files can be easily restored from the previous day's backup via the /backup "directory" or a shell program used to restore from tape or disk (a small fee may apply for tape restores).
E-mail Limitations Each MPS runs its own mail server so there are no default e-mail limitations. You can configure limitations on message size, etc., if desired.
Technical Support ITS provides US-based technical support. We value low-volume, high quality personal service so there is no massive call center to deal with.
